Exercise #3 Homework

MLA could use social networking to connect to members but they'd have to train even more of us who did not initially see the value of these functions in how to use them. The more savvy librarians could perhaps take on those not yet connected. (nice reversal of roles with newer librarians helping their supervisors?)

I'm not sure if our library should have a Facebook page. I would leave that to my more hip librarians if they are interested in maintaining one. With our short staff, I'm hesitant to add more work to anyone.

I can't tell if I'm paranoid, but I do have privacy concerns, especially in Facebook. I don't know how identity thief works, so I don't know what to be leevy of.

I haven't had enough time to play with this stuff to know what I've liked yet.

MLA assignment for week#2

difference between a blog and a wiki: a blog shows postings in chronicle order. A wiki can be edited by anyone who has editing rights and you don't see the whole history unless you ask to.

MLA Assignment: use for blogs and patrons

Our library could use RSS feeds to keep current on library issues being discussed on blogs.
We could show patrons how to connect to interest groups if they have a chronic disease.

Learning to edit

I changed the name of my blog thanks to Ann's help. Thanks, Ann.

First attempt

Somethings don't come naturally; for me, this is one! I'm doing this for a MLA class, but wondering why....
